The "Growing Height" function offers the possibility to let an object grow with other objects. This is helpful when automatically adjustable backgrounds or a funeral cross are needed in display patterns. The function can be applied to graphic elements, text frames, as well as image frames.
Procedure and Example
To do this, a selection group is formed that includes all elements. Here we demonstrate it exemplarily on a growing image frame.
Proceed as follows:
- Select all elements that should determine the height and whose height should be adjusted. Then select the "Growing Height > Create" function from the context menu.
- Next, select the object that should adjust to the height. In this example, it is the image frame. Call the "Object Growing" function from the context menu.
Additional Functions
Add Object
If you want to add an object to an existing group of growing objects at a later time, this function is suitable.
Remove Object
Select this function if an object should no longer be part of a group of growing objects.
Undo
This will dissolve the group of growing objects. Even if only one object from the group has been selected, this function applies to all connected objects.
Settings in the Properties Dialog
Objects that have the "growing" property can have an offset assigned through the graphic properties. This will either shorten them (negative offset values) or lengthen them (positive values). The corresponding setting can be found in the "Flexibility" section of the properties dialog.
