If you select graphic objects in Stylo, a toolbox appears that contains important functions for graphic editing. The window positions itself near the cursor, but in such a way that it does not completely cover the object.
The toolbox is not displayed when the "Object" palette or the properties dialog is open.
Moving the Toolbox
The toolbox is displayed to you when selecting a graphic object near the cursor and covers – as much as possible – little of the selected object. Sometimes it is helpful to be able to move the toolbox aside. You can do this using the transporter icon in the upper right corner.
The toolbox remains in the chosen position until it is closed. Closing occurs when you no longer have a graphic object selected or when you select text.
Standard
This toolbox variant is presented to you for all graphic objects except for an image frame.
Media Access
Upload: With the icon, you can replace images in the selected graphic object.
Gallery: The right icon calls the "Gallery" function. If a specific gallery has been assigned, you will see the icons displayed directly. Otherwise, you can switch the gallery pool and choose the desired image or logo.
Align
In this section, you can quickly align objects. The following options are available:
-
Horizontal
- Left
- Center
- Right
-
Vertical
- Top
- Center
- Bottom
The last selected object is the reference point for alignment. Relative alignment is only possible through the alignment dialog.
Distribute
If you have selected multiple objects (more than two), you can evenly distribute the spaces between them both horizontally and vertically. If you require a predefined distance, use the distribute dialog, which can be accessed via the context menu.
Order
With the help of these icons, you can change the order of the objects. The following options are available to you (from left to right):
- Bring to Front
- Move Forward One Level
- Move Backward One Level
- Send to Back
You will find more advanced functionality in the layers panel, where you have the option to not only change the order of the elements but also to name them and protect them from editing.
Mirror
Images and other graphic objects can be mirrored with this function. The content of text frames is not affected by this.
Rotate
Graphic objects can be rotated in 90-degree increments. Independently, you can rotate in finer increments directly on the object using the rotate property or through the properties dialog.
Adjust Size
If you want to match the width or height of objects, you can do so with this function. First, select the objects that need to be adjusted before finally selecting the object that will set the size.
Color
Using the pencil icon, you can change the color of the border of the selected objects, and using the bucket symbol, you can change the fill color. In both cases, the Stylo Color Dialog will open.
Image Frame
This variant of the floating toolbox is displayed to you when you have selected an image frame. The box contains some additional elements that are image-specific.
Image Handling
Using the displayed slider, you can change the image frame or image size depending on what has been selected. The icons (from left to right) serve to select the image mode:
- Image Frame Selection (blue selection)
- Subject Selection (brown selection)
- Image Masks Selection (green selection)
If you apply the toggle options to an image without an image frame, an image frame will be automatically created.
