This menu item can be selected via the context menu and is only active when a frame pool is active. The configuration of the associated frame pool is usually done in the template administration.
When it is active, available frame alternatives are displayed as a submenu. The following properties are inherited from the underlying frame pattern:
- Frame color
- Frame thickness
- Frame style
- Corner shapes
This also includes the properties of partial frames (for example, only a line at the top and bottom) or decorative frames.
Normally, the margin settings of the display are also inherited from the frame template. In the administration, the behavior can be changed so that the margins of the display remain – however, this setting always applies globally.
Displays with a linked text frame are re-excluded after assigning a frame template. In displays where the text frames have been fixed in position and thus have no relation to the display frame, the widths and positions of the text frames are not changed by the reassignment. However, this does not exclude the possibility that such an assignment can cause overflow or that text may be overlapped by lines or decorative elements. This must be taken into account when creating templates and assigning frame templates.
Assigned background colors and background images of the display are retained.
The frames are Stylo files. In the pools, Stylo-ODT files are stored or assigned.
In the selection, the desired frame pool can be chosen (if more than one pool is provided for the template). At the bottom of the dialog, there is a filter option for the frames.
