With the help of this function, objects can be aligned to each other based on their width. Such a group can contain dynamic elements, for example, text frames that have a variable width or image frames that adjust their width to the content. A typical application is, for example, the bereaved block in obituaries, where the phrase with the names and possibly also a saying should be aligned in a row.

How it works

1. If you are working with text frames in the group, please assign them a variable width.
2. Select the objects and call the function "Horizontal Align → Create" via the context menu.
3. In the dialog that now opens, choose the desired alignment options. If you want to create a relatives block in an obituary, you can adopt the suggested settings. Otherwise, follow the explanations for the individual options that follow.
