There is a small function within the polygon point panel that can be very helpful. The prerequisite for this is that you are in point editing mode.

How does it work?

1. Switch to point editing mode.
   
2. Click on the point in polygon 1 that you want to align.
   
3. Select the point to align – it will then be specially marked.
   
4. Repeat step 3 for the point in polygon 2. You can see very well that the two points are marked.
   
5. Now align the points by clicking the position icon.
