Yes, you can.
Two conditions must be met:
- First, if you haven't already done so, make the ruler visible. You can do this using the view icon in the toolbar.
- In the same menu, you will find the entry "Guidelines," which allows you to make guidelines visible.
By default, the guidelines are red and magnetic, which means that when an object comes close to the line, it will snap to the guideline.
What is the procedure?
- You should not have the cursor positioned in a text frame. Otherwise, Stylo would try to set a tab stop with a click on the ruler. Click outside.
- Move the cursor to the ruler, click there, and start dragging the line. It will become visible as soon as you enter the display area.
- Drag the line to the position where you want to place it and release.
If you click in the upper left area, you can simultaneously draw a horizontal and a vertical guideline.
How do you delete the guidelines?
Do you really want to delete? The gentler method would be to hide the guideline. Then it won't disturb you, and you can always revert to it.
If you want to delete the guidelines, click on them and press Delete or Backspace.
Are there settings options for the guidelines?
Yes, you can make three settings:
- Position
- Color
- "Magnetic" property
Click on the guideline and open the context menu with the right mouse button. There, select "Properties."
