Copy Text
Copying and pasting can be done via the context menu, floating toolboxes, palettes, or keyboard shortcuts.
Please note that when pasting text from external sources into your Stylo document, the browser you are using may require a one-time confirmation from you when pasting via icons or the context menu. In some cases, an additional submenu may appear where you need to confirm the action again or select specific options. These behaviors and settings of the browser depend on its security and privacy mechanisms and are beyond our control. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that pasting external texts will always proceed smoothly and without further inquiries.
These security mechanisms do not apply when you work with keyboard shortcuts. The following commands are available:
| Ctrl + c | Copy |
| Ctrl + x | Cut |
| Ctrl + v | Paste |
No formatting is transferred when copying and pasting text.
Copying and Pasting from Other Documents
It is also possible to copy and paste between different documents. In this case, the texts and objects are copied to the clipboard in the local storage of the browser and are retrieved by Stylo when needed. Due to this approach, the following aspects should be considered when copying and pasting.
- If a document is closed and a new one is opened, the paste function can be used without any problems.
- If something is copied in one document and a new browser is opened, the content can be accessed without any problems.
- Stylo documents opened in other tabs and windows must be reopened to allow access. The reason is that browsers manage their own local storage for each individual window and tab, which cannot be updated by other tabs and windows.
Copy Text Formatting
Using the strikethrough tool, which you can find in various dialogs, it is possible to copy formatting and apply it elsewhere. Currently, this option is available for text and can be found in the following dialogs:
You will be informed about the exact handling in the detailed articles linked above. Here is an example of the practical function using the Copy Character Formatting Button.
Copy Graphic Objects
Using the copy functions, you can copy and paste both graphics and images within the document. The formatting of the document or the properties of the image are also retained.
You can find commands to copy, cut, and paste in both the floating toolboxes and the palettes, as well as in the context menu. Additionally, you can also use the common keyboard shortcuts:
| Ctrl + c | Copy |
| Ctrl + x | Cut |
| Ctrl + v | Paste |
